West Midlands-based MiX Vehicle Conversion Specialists is developing two variants of its lightweight Alu-pod pick-up truck body system for blue light sector applications.
 With fixed and demountable designs currently being finalised, the firm says its new products will be launched at the Emergency Services Show at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry, from 24—25 November.
"Alu-pod is already a tried, tested and proven design in the utilities industries and we are now extending its capabilities to suit n the blue light sector," comments Tom Dougall, account manager for MiX.
"Our new designs are being developed as the result of consultations with emergency services operators, who have expressed a need for a lightweight, flexible and versatile storage solution for use in on- and off-road emergency situations," he explains.
"With its ability to fit a range of vehicles, plus our capability to accommodate individual specifications, we believe the new blue light Alu-pods have great market potential."
