A new product to help hauliers keep to the correct side of the road when driving overseas has been launched by Wallace Cameron.
 Called Lanesafe, the device projects a large head-up display onto a lorry windscreen, constantly reminding the driver which side of the road they should be driving on.
A compact battery-powered device with a built-in solar panel that charges the battery while driving in daylight hours, Lanesafe attaches to the inside lower part of a truck's windscreen. It features a reversible directional panel that can simply be rotated and refitted to reflect the correct lane direction.
The safer driving device has been developed by Italian businessman Gio Benedetti, chairman of Wishaw-based manufacturer Wallace Cameron.
"I drive frequently in Europe and, even as an experienced driver, I know that sometimes I revert to UK habits and have to think twice about which side of the road I'm meant to be driving on," he admits.
"I believe Lanesafe has the potential to save many lives and prevent thousands of accidents and injuries by giving hauliers an instant reminder of which side of the road they should be in at all times, bearing in mind that there are 65 countries worldwide that drive on the left-hand side of the road," Benedetti concludes.
