Masternaut Three X has launched a vehicle tracking service for the iPhone and iPad that provides a real-time link to operational information for mobile fleet managers and technicians.
 Dubbed Masternaut Rapide, the app covers the core functions of the live Masternaut service, and Johann Levy, R&D manager at Masternaut, says it's free to iPhone and iPad users.
The system can locate and monitor vehicles, as well as provide movement histories – and provide instant views of the nearest mechanic.
"The system is extremely fast and reactive. There is no downloading of web pages. It gives a full map view for locating vehicles and staff at any time and provides satellite images," states Levy.
Blackberry and Android phones will be next for the treatment, he says.
