Shutter door concept boosts efficiency and earning potential

A rear shutter door control, designed to fit onto multi-drop commercial vehicles, will provide bodybuilders with "exceptional business opportunities".

Shutter door concept boosts efficiency and earning potentialSo says developer Albert Jagger, which also claims increased profitability for operators.

Centradrive is an electronic unit, activated by remote control via a key fob. Powered directly from the vehicle's 24V battery, the controller can be fitted to both existing dry freight shutter doors or new-style lightweight composite doors.

Evaluations have shown that by using Centradrive, the average drop time on a route can be reduced from six minutes to four. This reduction, says the company, means an extra three deliveries a day – an overall increase in productivity by 10%.

"The increasing demand for multi-drop vehicles to work within an inner city urban delivery cycle has led to the need for the industry to work closer with bodybuilders to ensure commercial vehicles are fit for purpose," says Albert Jagger's managing director, Garth Cooper.

"Centadrive enables bodybuilders to provide their customers with an added value product offering an efficient, safe and economical solution to maximising multi-drop deliveries," he adds.
