When Leicester operator Prince Petroleum wanted an unusual specification of Scania Truck for its haulage fleet, Keltruck came up with the solution.

Bespoke Scania tanker is fit for a PrinceThe rear-steer 6x2 drawbar combination is based on the Scania P405LB 6x2 4MNAD and replaces an existing 44-tonne Prince Petroleum artic.

Benefits of the new vehicle include greater flexibility as a delivery vehicle with an overall capacity similar to the artic it replaces, thanks to the addition of a more manoeuvrable prime mover.

Mark Prince, director of Prince Petroleum, states that the choice of vehicle was due to "the gain in flexibility" offered by the configuration.

"We are going to use it to bridge product in to our own storage from the local distribution terminals at Nottingham and Kingsbury," explains Prince.

"But we can also use it to make deliveries to virtually any of our customers, in bulk loads either for local hauliers, petrol filling stations or farmers etc.. [And] we can also use it without the trailer to deliver to domestic customers," he adds.

The truck comes with a five-year support programme package, meaning it will have full repair and maintenance all managed from the Keltruck Nottingham Branch, located a few miles away and backed by over 94 nationwide service points.
