Incident reporting tool saves cost and time for fleet managers

Fleet managers and drivers can now benefit from a mobile incident reporting tool, from Codegate, which claims to cut the time fleet managers normally spend wrestling with admin and also reduces insurance premiums.

Incident reporting tool saves cost and time for fleet managers"Our new Incident Reporting Tool allows drivers to quickly, easily and accurately record any kind of road incident, from an accident to an inspection from VOSA," explains Terran Churcher, Codegate's Chairman.

The system runs on a hand-held computer, and prompts drivers to enter all required information relating to any incident, using standard 'forms'.

Churcher reckons that, where accidents are concerned, using the tool speeds up reporting to insurance companies, leading to faster incident resolution and settlement.

He also says that, where VOSA inspections are concerned, it forces drivers to enter a reason for being stopped and the actions required.

"Plotting the history of VOSA actions and recommendations can highlight training or health and safety needs, helping to establish best practice corporate duty of care," he states.
