Driver performance and safety management systems developer GreenRoad has added speed violation monitoring, idling heat maps and more data integration to its award-winning fleet product.
Glenn Pereira, director of product marketing for GreenRoad, says that its posted speed performance module virtually eliminates offences by automatically capturing speeding incidents, ranking them on a safety score and mapping the details for fleet managers to see.
"Speeding is a major contributor to fleet crash incidents and excessive speed can dramatically increase fuel consumption," he explains. "Now, fleet drivers and management have a new level of safety protection and insight," he adds.
As for the new idling heat maps, Pereira states that fleet managers get an at-a-glance view of problems across routes, so that drivers and policies can be improved. Operators, he says, can expect up to 10% fuel savings and a further 5% by proactive idling management.
Similarly, the new data integration – delivered via a new set of APIs (application program interfaces) enable data interchange with other systems, to extend truck and driver management.
Pereira says that more than 70,000 fleet drivers around the world are now using the GreenRoad service and experiencing an average 50% reduction in crashes as well as up to 10% reduction in fuel consumption. To date the company has logged over 3 billion driver miles and continues to add over 100 million more per month.
