Carrier Transicold has unveiled an update for its Foretrack satellite tracking and fleet management system, which it says helps operators improve productivity, profitability and efficiency.

Carrier Transicold upgrades Foretrack systemThe Foretrack system provides real-time data and analysis for refrigerated fleets as they travel across Europe.

Its update means that the system is now compatible with all major web browsers, and the mapping function that allows users to turn addresses into GPS co-ordinates has also been overhauled.

Mark Daniels, service engineering manager at Carrier Transicold, says that other improvements include integration of Bing maps, with aerial imaging, and a refined SMS notification system that records all sent and received messages.

He also refers to a new 'find nearest device' feature, which allows users to locate the nearest vehicles, along with a journey indicator that identifies each of their intended destinations.
"
The software-based upgrades make it easier and faster to access information, provide users with more choice and paves the way for further system enhancements in the future," states Daniels.
