Pulsor refrigeration units, from Carrier Transicold, are aimed at light commercial vehicles, offering more precise temperature control for home delivery fleets.

Carrier Transicold unveils home delivery PulsorJustin Grace, managing director of Carrier Transicold UK, explains that the new units are designed for insulated vans and LCVs with a load space of 12 to 30m3.

Key features, he says, include its ability to reach full refrigeration capacity at low engine speed (1,000 rpm), and multi-temperature capabilities, with set points between -30°C and +30°C.

"The beauty of the Pulsor unit is that it uses patented Carrier E-Drive technology, combined with an inverter and a variable speed hermetic compressor," states Grace.

E-Drive is an adaptation of Carrier's Vector all-electric trailer system, already in use by supermarket fleets.

"Many of these customers also run significant home delivery operations; where extensive product testing has shown the Pulsor unit to thrive, with a 20% reduction in fuel consumption during pull down," says Grace.
