National plant hire company, Pickerings Plant has opened a new depot and also taken delivery of a new Scania P325DB 6x2 MNA flatbed truck from Keltruck.
The vehicle has been fitted with a short day cab, and features Scania's Opticruise transmission as well as a 9,000kg front axle and lifting rear axle.
This configuration has allowed for a Fassi 360 crane to be fitted behind the cab without compromising on body length or payload.
Pickerings Plant managing director Mark Chamberlain comments that the low profile of the Scania chassis enables a low loading height, while, at the same time, improving the ramp angle for easier loading and unloading.
"The Scania is not only a very reliable vehicle, it is also a quality vehicle and, as a company that prides itself in quality, it was a natural choice," states Chamberlain.
