Today (1 February 2012) sees the launch of Contisys Check TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system), which supersedes the VDO OBD professional commercial vehicle diagnostic tool.
According to VDO, its new equipment provides greater functionality, and offers improved memory capacity.
VDO ContiSys Check covers al the usual functions, including FastCheck electronic OBD, brake, common rail and injector coding or service reset.
By adding the VDO TPMS module, vehicle diagnostic users will also be able to read out sensor data via a wireless link. In addition, the device provides service information around, for example, the replacement of wheel sensors, such as tightening torques and parts numbers.
The TPMS module contains a rechargeable battery block that permits up to two hours of continuous operation, without connection to the vehicle's electrical system.
VSO says its basic ContiSys Check diagnostic tool can be retrofitted with a wireless link radio frequency module.
