Transport Systems Catapult, part of the Catapult innovation and technology programme set up by the government's Technology Strategy Board, has installed: Chris Powell as chief financial officer; Mark Ruddy (ex of Network Rail) as chief operating officer; and Neil Ridley (who formerly led the Transport Knowledge Transfer Network) director of business development.

Neil McDonnell is the new man at the helm for FTA Ireland. Formerly general manager of Wincanton's fuel business in Ireland, he is a founding member of the Association, serving on its first National Council and contributing to the FTAI accreditation scheme.

Colin Blunt has joined Optare's UK sales team as its new regional sales manager for the north of England and Scotland. He joins Optare from Scania, where he was body liaison manager working with the sales team and customers to develop specifications for the company's bus and coach products.

Millers Oils has appointed Bob Howard as key account manager for the industrial sector. Meanwhile, Steve Halliwell is the new business development manager for commercial vehicle; Bob Howard moves to global key account manager (industrial); Mark Berry, is business development manager for automotive; and Jason Lavender is business development manager for motorsport and classic.

Fuel security device manufacturer TISS has appointed Paul Cook as business development manager, following a period of record sales. The firm, which makes the TankSafe fuel security device, says Cook will support existing customers as well as exploring new business opportunities, spurred by buoyant truck registration figures over the past year.

Tom Edwards is the new retread and brand manager for Continental Tyres is the UK and Ireland, taking over from Grant Willman, who has recently been promoted to regional sales manager for the South. Meanwhile, Gabriel O'Keefe has taken on a truck sales manager covering Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland borders.

Neil Hendry has been appointed internet strategy and e-commerce manager for Europe by Giti Tire. Based at the company's UK headquarters in Cheshire, he will report to Richard Lyons, managing director for Europe.
