Millbrook CEO Alex Burns has been appointed to the board of the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP). Burns became CEO at Millbrook in February last year following the transfer of ownership from General Motors to Rutland Partners in December 2013.

Martin Lundstedt, president and CEO of Scania, has been elected to lead ACEA's (European Automobile Manufacturers' Association) commercial vehicle board for 2015. He follows Wolfgang Bernhard, who is head of Daimler Trucks, who has served two terms.

Mike Corcoran has been appointed to the position of commercial truck director for Volvo Trucks, responsible for new trucks business, including fleet sales, in the UK and Ireland. He moves from Volvo Group UK director for used trucks, and now reports to Arne Knaben, Volvo Trucks' managing director.

Michael Young has joined ATS Euromaster as group operations director responsible for truck and retail sites.He was formerly with global paints and coatings specialist AkzoNobel, and joins Peter Tye who continues to act as group operations director for retail centres.

Wheel alignment specialist Pro-Align has appointed Brett Hickey as commercial vehicle specialist to head up its new CV division. He previously managed the PDI department of one of the largest DAF dealerships in Europe.

Stephen Marsh is the new UK retail development manager at Hankook, looking after its Masters network, with a goal of further developing the programme and working with other regional retailers.

Chris Wise, formerly commercial director at Optare, has joined Wright Customcare as national parts manager for the UK, reporting into Ian Downie, managing director – sales and custom care for Wrightbus.

Ralph Acs has been appointed head of Volvo Buses American operations. He was previously vice president and general manager of Bombardier-Learjet in the United States.

Commercial vehicle hire and fleet management specialist Prohire has promoted Dave Barlow to group managing director from commercial director.

Vehicle lifting equipment firm Stertil Koni has boosted its UK sales team, taking on Derrick Peel as area sales manager for the Midlands and North. The appointment follows the retirement of Jim O'Keeffe, who has been with the company for 23 years.

Lee Sheldon has joined PCS (Paul Creek Services) as business development manager south, focusing on the London area. He was formerly with Optare.

Alan Worthy has joined Whale Tankers as service business manager, working with service manager Andy McFarlane. He was previously customer services manager at switchgear specialist Craig & Derricott.
