Graham Smith OBE FIMI, executive advisor to the president of Toyota Motor Europe and managing director of its London Office, is the new president of IMI. He was inaugurated at the last AGM and will work with IMI CEO Steve Nash.

Robert Oliphant is the new head of fleet for the Midlands at Veolia Environmental Services (UK), reporting in to the fleet director John Matthews. Prior to the new appointment, Oliphant was dealer point manager for Volvo Truck and Bus, looking after its Ely and Peterborough locations.

Andy Latham is the new managing director of automotive recycling and motor salvage specialist Salvage Wire. He was formerly with Bluecycle (Aviva), is an ATA qualified vehicle damage assessor and a keen advocate of 'green recycled parts' in vehicle repair, which is currently limited in the UK.

FuelDefend Global, which supplies fuel anti-theft devices to the commercial vehicle industry, has appointed Richard Meechan as technical director, responsible for all engineering, manufacturing and sourcing, as well as heading up the design department. He was previously with Road Angel, the automotive aftermarket telematics firm, where he was also technical director.

Burnt Tree's specialist contract hire business unit has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Glenn Murphy as contract hire business development manager for the North West, Cumbria, North East, Yorkshire and North Wales, reporting to contract hire director Mark Howell.
Murphy was formerly with Ryder/HillHire, where he was national accounts manager.

Commercial vehicle contract hire and fleet management specialist Prohire has appointed Sarah Degg to its Staffordshire-based customer relationship management team, reporting to Sarah will work out of Prohire's Michelle Miles-Brown, Prohire's customer relations manager.
