Gareth Jones, managing director of ebm-papst Automotive and Drives, is the new SMMT president. He succeeds Tim Abbott, who becomes deputy president, having also taken up a post with BMW in South Africa. Three new vice presidents are: Penny Randall, marketing director of Renault Trucks UK; Tony Walker, deputy managing director, Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK); and James Wright, managing director, Nissan Motor (GB).

Andover Trailers has appointed Clive Jones to a new role as head of trailer sales, responsible for the company's heavy plant trailers and specialist trailers, manufactured in Hampshire. He takes on the position following the retirement of sales director Ivan Collins.

Renault Trucks has strengthened its sales team in Scotland with the appointment of two new transport solutions executives, Angus McIntosh and Calum Aitken. They now report to Richard Voigt, regional sales manager for Scotland and Ireland.

Grayson Thermal Systems has appointed Matthew Hateley as client account manager and business development in a move aligned with the company's plans to up the pace of its expansion to export markets. He previously worked at the firm as sales and marketing assistant, during his studies at Birmingham City University.

Jenny Chambers has joined epyx as senior account manager for 1link Service Network. Her brief is to manage relationships with large CV fleets using the e-commerce platform.

Iain Speak, CEO of Bibby Supply Chain Services, has moved to a consultancy role supporting Bibby Line Group. Speak has been with the firm for 17 years, during which time he oversaw the growth of Bibby Distribution to become one of the largest 3PL providers in the UK.
