Volker Mornhinweg, executive vice president of Mercedes-Benz Vans, has taken over the leadership of the Light Commercial Vehicle General Mangers’ Committee at ACEA (the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association). Klaus-Dieter Schürmann, chief financial officer for Skoda, who led the committee since its formation in 2015, is standing down.

ATS Euromaster has won a roadside technican of the year award for the second year in succession, with technician Lee Hayman taking top spot at the 2016 National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) Awards.

Hayman, who is based at ATS Euromaster’s service centre in Plympton, is a mobile technician and specialises in truck tyre management.

Technician Carl Nash, who works for Mercedes-Benz dealer Intercounty Truck & Van, has won the manufacturer’s Truck Technician of the Year title.

The 40-year-old works at Intercounty’s Peterborough site, but also supports service colleagues at workshops in Milton Keynes, Wellingborough and Toddington.

Hyva UK has appointed John Cargill as its new regional manager for Scotland and Ireland. He previously worked in senior positions for companies including Moffett, Outreach, Carrylift and Alltruck Crane Repairs.

Pall-Ex is celebrating its 20th anniversary with three new appointments: Chris Holland (formerly with XPO Logistics) joins the board as director of IT; Mark Steel (previously sales director at Premier Logistics) becomes director of sales and marketing; and Adrian Bradley (ex of UPS and Fortec Distribution Network) is the new director of operations.

Seven Telematics has added Jonathan Wiggins to its sales team. He has a strong background in telematics and will be working predominantly in the South of England on everything from the company’s Transcan range to its Seven Eye GPS tracking and remote temperature monitoring systems.

Giti Tire has confirmed that Brian McDermott and Daria Sala della Cuna have been promoted to sales and marketing directors in Europe for passenger car and light truck, and truck and bus respectively.

They will report to Torsten Gehrmann, senior managing director - Europe for Giti Tire.

Cartwright Conversions has appointment Simon Morley as its new business development manager. He has previously held business development positions at both vehicle racking and roof racking specialists. He has also worked as a group fleet sales manager for a dealer network as well as held an operational role in car and van rental.

Sarah Cox has been appointed head of marketing for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. She will replace Kirsten Stagg who leaves the brand later this month to take up a new role in Škoda UK.

Chris Butcher has joined Eminox as global sales and marketing director for the emissions-busting technology company. He reports to managing director Giles Richell.

Previously, Butcher worked in technology sectors ranging from diesel engines to hydraulics and electronics for vehicle lighting and safety equipment companies.

MAN Truck & Bus UK has appointed Nick Handy to the new role of product marketing manager for vans, supporting the launch of the new MAN TGE. Handy is a chartered engineer with more than 18 years’ experience in sales engineering and product marketing for trucks. He has worked at MAN in the UK since 2006.

Meanwhile, MAN has also appointed a new sales executive for Leeds based dealership Steadplan. Ian Kilmurray has a background in axle engineering for buses and trucks, and has worked latterly for Mercedes Commercial Vehicles and then Ford Motor Company.

Neil Park has been appointed as Regional managing director for Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North & Scotland. He joined Volvo Trucks in 1993 as a technician and progressed to become retail development manager for Volvo Truck and Bus Scotland in 2002.

After the formation of Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North & Scotland in 2009, he joined the senior management team.
