Ian Constance has been appointed is the new chief executive of the £1 billion Advanced Propulsion Centre – which helps turn low-carbon concepts into winners developed and manufactured in the UK – succeeding Tony Pixton, who will continue to serve on the APC board having led the start-up of the organisation.
DAF Trucks has bolstered its aftersales service with three experienced field executives service director John McMenamin. Mark Dimmick and Andrew Grigor join DAF Trucks as regional aftersales managers for the south-west and the midlands and eastern regions respectively, while Ross Taviner becomes regional aftersales manager for London and the south-east. Meanwhile, Nigel Beckett becomes aftersales director, moving up from fleet sales director.
Guy Heywood is the new commercial director at Michelin Tyre, looking after operations in the UK and Republic of Ireland. He also retains his position as head of Michelin's truck and bus division, which he has held since 2012.
Rob Marchant, managing director of Midlands engineering design specialist MarchantCain Design, has become one of the first engineering designers in the UK to be recognised by the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED), after it received a Royal Charter in 2012.
Double-deck trailers operator Buffaload Logistics has appointed Jim Blaber to oversee development and operations at the firm's new distribution hub in Livingston and West Lothian, Scotland. He was formerly operations manager for JHP Transport Lanark and Farm Field Fresh, but also has a background in retail.
Simon Blake is the new operations and supply chain director at Autoglass, moving from parent company Belron International, where he was head of global supply chain management.
