The Department of Infrastructure are looking to recruit a Plant and Engineering Manager to take responsibility in managing the procurement, service, maintenance and repair of the Isle of Man Government’s plant and equipment assets as part of the Department of Infrastructure’s Shared Fleet Services Section.

The job purpose is to assist the Head of Fleet Services to effectively manage the procurement, service, maintenance and repair of Government plant and equipment assets and to manage the provision of an engineering resource for the maintenance of infrastructure assets. The Plant and Engineering Manager will be required to provide expert knowledge with regards to specialist plant and equipment and engineering processes and ensure that all services are provided in an efficient and cost effective manner in compliance with current legislation and best practice.

This is a key role within the section; applicants must have significant experience and knowledge of a wide range of engineering plant being utilised in an operational environment together with a proven ability to lead and manage a multi-disciplined team. Candidates must be enthusiastic and adaptable and ideally possess a recognised engineering qualification to at least City and Guilds Level 4/5 together with a NEBOSH General Certificate.
