An excellent opportunity has arisen for an organised, authoritative and influential individual to join G4S in the pivotal role of Director of Fleet Services.

G4S is the largest secure solutions company in the world and the second largest private employer on the London Stock Exchange. Our Cash Management Solutions business has expertise in cash and valuables transportation, cash processing, ATM and cash centre outsourcing, alongside secure storage and retrieval.

As the UK's leading provider of integrated cash handling services, we transport, store and process cash for a wide range of customers. To meet the challenges ahead, it's essential that we're supported by people who share our values – including our commitment to keeping our company performing to the highest standards. That's where you come in.

As our motivated, experienced and level-headed Director of Fleet Services you'll be responsible for all fleet management activities, ensuring all associated legal undertakings are met and delivering a cost effective, 'best in class' fleet management solution. You'll design, implement and enforce transport management standard operating procedures, ensuring currency standardisation and compliance, and maximising vehicle availability and utilisation.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will:

  • Manage and deliver a £60m+ fleet across a multiple business unit environment.
  • Delivery a cross-functional fleet strategy and a road risk strategy.
  • Report performance to senior stakeholders – in areas of financial performance, vehicle availability and utilisation, RTCs and projects.
  • Produce and distribute management information to help drive understanding and performance.
  • Develop and maintain key supplier relationships, ensuring value for money.

You will be educated to degree level, preferably in a relevant discipline. You will hold a national / international CPC qualification and will have the proven ability to manage a multimillion pound cost-base. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous management of diverse vehicle fleets, including specialist and commercial vehicles in excess of 1000 vehicles.
  • Strong leadership skills and developed negotiating skills, with the ability to influence and develop robust relationships at all levels.
  • Impressive communication, organisational and project management skills, and the ability to ensure the timely delivery of appropriate assignments.
  • A commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards.
  • Great people skills, including the ability to lead and develop staff to high performance levels.

In addition to a culture that believes in promoting from within, we offer up to five weeks' paid holiday, a generous pension scheme, life assurance, health checks, and a free uniform and childcare voucher scheme.
