Our engineering function is undergoing an exciting period of development and cultural change in order to ensure that the engineering department is fit for the challenges of the future. We are looking for a strong, effective leader who can identify and drive initiatives which will make the garage work smarter, to deliver the efficiencies that the garage and business require.
As Engineering Manager,you will lead the engineering team, manage resources within budget and ensure the provision of vehicles to the necessary standard, in regard to reliability, presentation and operational requirements for the business. You will lead by example and have the ability to not only motivate and engage staff in all situations but also deal with disciplinary and staffing matters.
The successful candidate will have previous experience as an Engineer/Workshop Manager or as a Working Charge Hand within the transport industry, where delivery is paramount. You will also have financial awareness and the ability to manage, analyse and report a profit and loss budget. A proven track record of turning the performance of a garage around for the better will give you an added advantage
A relevant Engineering qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is required. Knowledge and understanding of VOSA requirements and a relevant qualification in Health and Safety Management are essential.You will also have proficient computer skills particularly in Excel and Outlook combined with the ability to quickly learn other applications.
