We currently have an exciting opportunity for the position of Engineering Manager based at our Battersea Depot –Gold Award winner for London Bus Garage of the year 2014.
This role will contribute to the success of Abellio London and Surrey, recent winner of London Bus Operator of the Year.
THE ROLE
You would join a busy and demanding team and so we're looking for candidates who can bring new ideas and ways of working to help the team achieve its objectives. It is also important candidates have the initiative and drive to make things happen.
The role will report to the Engineering Director with the day to day responsibility for running the Engineering facilities in accordance with the Company's policies and standards in order to deliver a consistently reliable, safe, high quality and punctual service in line with specified targets, contractual obligations and commercial objectives. You will need management experience supported by initiative and flexibility towards all situations.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
To control engineering resources within your garage.
To ensure sufficient vehicles, to the required standard of reliability, presentation and condition.
To oversee planned and unplanned maintenance and deal with technical problems, personnel, negotiations, stock control and budget interpretation.
To motivate your team therefore leadership qualities will be critical. Lead Engineering resource to drive performance from the engineering function.
Effectively manage engineering and maintenance budget Initiate projects and investigate opportunities to reduce spend.
Develop and drive HSE procedures in conjunction with Engineering Director and HSE Manager. Ensure legislative compliance and adherence to company Policies.
