We are looking for a senior manager with to provide leadership, direction and motivation to Engineering Managers and their teams to ensure key performance indicators are met or surpassed and take steps to improve performance in areas falling below standards.
Principle responsibilities include:
- Ensuring engineering lost mileage is within budget
- Ensuring PG9 and MOT minimum pass criteria is maintained across all garages
- Exercising strict cost control in line with budget/forecast
- Ensuring Engineering Quality monitoring demerit points are at the required level
- Ensuring Health & Safety Audits are compliant and any address any shortcomings
- Identifying and addressing barriers to performance providing effective solutions in consultation with key stakeholders
- Determining and addressing the needs of each garage and its staff and identifying any improvements required to achieve success
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
This is a fast paced, ever changing industry so determination, stamina, adaptability, working with others, getting people onboard and being able to think on your feet is essential.
You will need to be able to identify individual team member strengths and plan activities to help maximise their impact; and be able to display tact, diplomacy and firmness when dealing with difficult situations.
You must also have:
- A national recognised Engineering Qualification in commercial/PCV vehicle maintenance
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior engineering based role (or be able to demonstrate suitable extensive expertise at the required level)
- Membership of ImechE or SOE at member level or have qualifications necessary to achieve membership
