Tower Transit is a key player in the London Bus sector - following the recently announced retirement of our Engineering Director, we are now looking to recruit a Head of Engineering for the London business. This new role will report directly to the Operations Director, with a functional link to the Group Engineering Director for technical and support issues.
The Head of Engineering will be responsible for leading and supporting the Engineering Managers and teams to ensure effective and efficient engineering and fleet functional performance throughout the Tower Transit London operation. As a member of the senior team they will be expected to maintain excellent engineering standards, while ensuring a cost effective and sustainable business model.
Key areas of responsibility to ensure success include –
- Engineering and Vehicle standards – including daily vehicle output and reliability
- Maintaining a safe working environment
- Ensuring a good working relationship between the local engineering and operations teams
- Identifying new opportunities identified for improved performance in health, safety, environment, efficiency and profitability.
We are looking for an individual who is capable of managing across multi-sites with strong verbal and written communication skills who is able to demonstrate they can lead and motivate a team to meet and exceed targets. A proven track record of delivery is essential, including managing budgets and costs within agreed levels.
