Maintenance Craftsperson (Mechanic) - 37.5 Hours per Week - Closing date 13.03.1826 February 2018

Band 4 + Recruitment and Retention payment of £3250.
The post is for a mechanic to be based at our Haydock workshop, on successful appointment training will be given in the various aspects of work on ambulance vehicles. There is potential following induction that the post holder will be able to join the out of hour’s rota to provide additional cover to our fleet.

You will play a key role in the maintenance of the Trust’s fleet of ambulances, operational vehicles and those of the general public, to support the Trust’s income generation work.

You must have served a full apprenticeship in the motor vehicle repair trade (normally 3 or 5 years) and have completed 3 years post qualification experience.

In addition you must have obtained the appropriate City and Guilds Craft Certificate or NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience (i.e 5 year apprenticeship).

Although not essential, possession of a MOT Testing Certificate would be an advantage.

You will hold a UK Driving License covering Groups C1 and D1, which has no more than 6 penalty points (points will be considered on an individual basis) whilst possession of an HGV license would be advantageous it is not an essential requirement.
