National Fleet Operations Manager - East Scotland Division, Band 8a – £40,428 - £48,514

Joining the Fleet Senior Management Team, the post has a national remit leading major national fleet projects and participating in various projects and workstreams across all areas of the Scottish Ambulance Service. The post has managerial, performance and budget responsibility for approximately 26 staff in 5 directly managed maintenance facilities and shared services ensuring the safe, compliant and efficient maintenance and operation of over 500 Scottish Ambulance Service and partner agency vehicles and equipment with a revenue budget of over £2 million.

You must have experience of managing a complex fleet (ideally in an emergency service or time critical LCV environment) and have a proven track record in staff management at a senior level, a sound understanding of managing a delegated budget and excellent analytical skills.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, hold (or evidence working towards) a Certificate of Professional Competence, Fleet Management qualifications or have equivalent relevant experience.A current driving licence is essential.

Fleet Maintenance Manager - South West Scotland Division, Band 6 – £26,565 - £35,577

Joining the Fleet Department, the successful candidate will be providing departmental support divisionally and regionally with responsibility for the South West Division and management of a revenue budget of £700K with approximately 17 staff in six facilities in Ayr, Dumfries, Kilwinning, Greenock, Vale of Leven and Lochgilphead.As well as managing a delegated budget to ensure the service attract best value for parts and service, you will also be responsible for the maintenance over 300 vehicles including front line ambulances, support vehicles and all associated ambulance patient care equipment.

Experience in managing a large mixed vehicle fleet and vehicle maintenance workshops is required and a progressive background to a management position would be advantageous as the position requires a comprehensive knowledge of vehicle legislation, mechanical and electrical systems.The applicant should be ideally a time served mechanic.

The successful candidate will hold a Certificate of Professional Competence (or evidence that they are working toward a CPC). A Higher National Certificate or Diploma would be advantageous. Recognised Fleet Management qualification or equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
