Workshop Supervisor, Liverpool – ADM Milling22 October 2014

An opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Supervisor at our Flour Mill in Seaforth. The main purpose of this role is to oversee the workshop operation and vehicle fleet maintenance to Department of Transport standards. Also ensure compliance with Health and Safety / Environmental legislations.

Reporting to the National Fleet Engineer, the main duties of this role will include:

• Liaising with the distribution team to achieve planned maintenance/servicing of company operated vehicles and inform them of vehicle downtime likely to affect operations.

• Organise/prioritise the workshop throughput and control work levels, ensure the most economic use of manpower/facility resources

• Ensure that vehicles are maintained to standards laid down by the National Fleet Engineer, receiving advice from him on legislation changes which occur from time to time and may affect existing standards

• Organise MOT preparation and bookings

• Maintain all vehicle records including defect reports

• Organise 3rd party repairs such as warranty, specialist repairs, tyre services and other items under consultation with the Fleet Engineer.

• Is responsible for ensuring all workshop equipment is maintained in safe working condition as required by legislation.

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following:

• City and Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or recognized equivalent qualification

• Experience of working in a Commercial vehicle repair workshop

• Knowledge/Experience of bulk powder pressure vessel operations

• C+E Driving Licence and valid Driver Qualification card
