20 more MAN trucks for Kammac logistics 28 January 2011

Consumer goods haulier Kammac has taken delivery of 20 MAN TGX 26.440BLS 6x2 tractor units as fleet replacements, bringing its predominantly MAN fleet to 50.

The new tractor units have been fitted with MAN's Fleet Management system, which Paul Kamel, managing director of Kammac, believes will help the logistics firm with VOSA compliance.

Kammac has also specified MAN EcoStyle, the driver performance package, which provide real-time data on individual drivers' performance and how profitably the vehicles are being driven.

"Driver performance monitoring has proved exceedingly useful," comments Kamel. "We've had the system installed on our MANs for over four years now, and it's allowed us to raise the fuel economy bar to a high average figure right across the fleet. All our drivers are just about on a par."

Kamel confirms that the firm has been using MAN trucks for six years, and says they have always proved very reliable. "Commercially, MAN's whole life cost package remains extremely competitive, and the non-requirement of AdBlue is a major factor for us, too," he states.
