AA awards BT Fleet five-year, multi-million van R&M contract11 September 2015

Fleet management specialist BT Fleet, which looks after far more than its own parent company’s vehicles, has been awarded a multi-million pound, five year R&M contract by the AA.

Under the deal, BT Fleet is to continue providing fleet management and maintenance services for the AA’s 3,400-strong fleet of breakdown and recovery vehicles.

BT Fleet currently carries out 40,000 service and repairs for the AA every year across 65 dedicated workshops, according to Joe Fielder, sales and marketing director at BT Fleet.

As part of the new agreement, the AA will also have access to BT Fleet’s network of external contractors and repair centres, along with 18 strategically-located garages and servicing facilities for out-of-hours use.

“We often refer to mission critical fleets and in this case it is particularly true,” comments Fielder.

“It is absolutely crucial that the AA’s vehicles are serviced and maintained effectively in order to keep them on the road and its 14 million members mobile.”

The renewal means that BT Fleet will have worked with the AA for 17 years. And as part of the deal, BT Fleet also gets breakdown and recovery services from the AA.

“It is a win-win situation for both parties and we look forward to further strengthening our relationship over the next five years,” says Fielder.

“The collaborative relationship we have enjoyed with BT Fleet has evolved over the years,” comments Sarah Millward, AA road commercial and fleet director.

“The addition of the out-of-hours service will ensure we maintain a competitive edge and offer our members the most responsive service.”
