Abbey Logistics sees clear benefits with Microlise system27 October 2017

Bulk liquid and powder transport operator Abbey Logistics Group is deploying a Microlise fleet management and telematics system across its fleet of 350 tractors and 300 trailers, replacing three separate tracking systems currently in operation.

The Microlise Fleet Performance system will provide real-time visibility of the fleet and help Abbey Logistics to improve driver performance and safety, while reducing fuel costs and environmental impact.

The Microlise driver performance management (DPM) app – available on Android and iOS devices – will show performance metrics, including grading the drivers A-G on a range of criteria, and will enable the operator to better target driver training.

The system also provides a full suite of reports via the Microlise web portal. Abbey has also specified the remote digital tachograph download function, to automate collection of drivers’ hours data.

“The deployment of Microlise Fleet Performance will give us the visibility we need to make effective improvements quickly,” said Steve Granite, CEO of Abbey Logistics Group.

“We are also hoping to free up management time by removing many manual processes and focusing our resources where they are needed. All of this is aimed at delivering the best service for our customers.”
