Aberdeen haulier celebrates anniversary with Volvo FH27 March 2018

Aberdeen-based haulier Colin Lawson Transport has taken delivery of ten new Volvo FH tractors in the past year, the latest of which features special livery to mark the operator’s 20th anniversary.

Supplied by the Aberdeen dealerpoint of Volvo Truck and Bus Centre North & Scotland, the operator’s latest arrival is an FH-500 in a 6x2 pusher axle format with a Globetrotter XL cab painted in Millennium Silver.

The vehicle is powered by a D13K 13-litre engine rated at 493bhp, coupled to an I-Shift 12-speed automated manual transmission system.

As with all vehicles in the 60-strong Colin Lawson Transport fleet, the latest Volvo FH will spend two years on long-distance haulage before being moved to local work for around eight years.

“I have a long association with Volvo trucks, which is represented in our heritage fleet with examples from the F10, F12 and F16 ranges,” says Colin Lawson, managing director.

He adds: “Our frontline Volvo trucks are flagship vehicles built for drivers. I am sold with I-Shift; it is a superb transmission system. Volvo trucks have earned their place in our business.”
