Adam Baker crowned best DAF technician in Europe 13 April 2016

Adam Baker (31), who works at the Chassis-Cab Truck Centre dealership in Ipswich, has been awarded DAF European Technician of the Year 2016 in the firm’s European final, at DAF Trucks in Eindhoven.

Baker prevailed over 16 finalists in c challenges designed to test their theoretical knowledge and practical skills, solving complex malfunctions on engine and vehicle systems.

“The European Technician of the Year competition underlines the importance of professional workshop technicians,” comments Johan Drenth, aftersales director of DAF Trucks NV.

“Modern trucks are high-tech vehicles, and a broad and deep technical knowledge is required to work on them,” he continues.

“In addition, the technician is the business card in the workshop of the DAF dealer so he or she plays an important role when it comes to customer satisfaction.”

DAF dealers throughout Europe entered their technicians for the competition.

“I could hardly believe it when I was chosen as the DAF UK Technician of the Year,” comments Baker, who received the trophy from Johan Drenth (pictured).
