Agricultural haulier celebrates 50th with special livery28 July 2017

In recognition and celebration of north Lincolnshire-based agricultural services company Keyo’s golden anniversary in 2017 has purchased a new Volvo FH-500 6x2 tractor unit featuring a striking golden livery.

Keyo’s special liveried FH, supplied by Crossroads Truck and Bus, is on a Volvo ‘Gold’ R&M contract with Uptime Guarantee.

Explains Keyo joint managing director Mark van den Bos: “As one of the leading suppliers to the poultry processing industry, we operate nationwide. Our vehicle duty cycle is designed around a combination of compliance and the specific, time-critical needs of our customers, who comprise blue-chip, major brands in the food industry. This means that we need total reliability from our trucks. That’s why we operate Volvo FH tractor units.

“We have run Volvo trucks for over 30 years of the 50 we have been in business,” continues van den Bos, “and have had an excellent experience with them. We are drawn to their reliability, focus on safety and the back-up from the dealer network. We have taken the Uptime Guarantee since its introduction with the latest FH in 2013, but a testament to the reliability of the FH is the fact that we have never had to use it,” he concluded.

Keyo operates 16 tractor units, 10 of which are Volvo FH-500 6x2s. The new Volvo FH, which is coupled to a new Krone ‘Dry Liner’ box trailer, is being used to carry three new Combilift RT fork trucks, together with a range of support equipment associated with bio-security at farm premises and welfare of the birds. Keyo has developed its own truck specification over the years and part of that is a 4-metre overall height requirement for the trailer to aid safe entry and exit to farms, some of which have overhanging trees on their drives.
