Airline deal fuels sales at lift manufacturer 26 July 2013

Exxon Mobil, which supplies aviation fuel to airports across the UK, has taken delivery of six S6cf cable-free vehicle lifts as part of a deal with Halesowen-based Somerstotalkare.

The lifts will be used to maintain Exxon Mobil's fuel tankers, working from the operator's workshop near Luton Airport.

The facility is responsible for maintaining the company's nine-strong vehicle fleet, which includes two recently purchased €500,000 tankers.

When configured as a set of six, the lifts enable the tractors and empty tankers to be lifted as one unit.

"The lifts give us maximum flexibility within our workshop space," comments Keith Rickard, workshop manager of Exxon. "This enables us to carry out all maintenance, repairs and inspections safely by giving us easy and full access to undersides of the vehicles."

With a maximum load of 7.5-tonnes per column, the S6cf system is more than capable of all Exxon Mobil's lifting requirements. However, the system can be extended to include a set of eight columns for larger applications, if required.
