All change in licensing department13 January 2010

Plans have been published by the UK's DfT (department for Transport) to change driving licenses for truck and bus drivers, as well as those towing medium-sized trailers.

The new legislation is part of a consultation on European standards for driver training, testing and licensing, that comes into force in 2013.

From that year, every truck and bus driver under 45 will undergo a medical assessment and renew their license on a three-yearly basis, replacing their photograph every 10 years.
