All-new Luton joins VW Commercial Vehicles Engineered-To-Go range 02 June 2014

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has expanded its Crafter range with an all-new Luton, introduced as part of the brand's Engineered-to-Go range in collaboration with British bodybuilder Ingimex.

Based on the Crafter chassis, the new Luton comes with a long wheelbase and Volkswagen's 2.0-litre TDI engine, with outputs of either 134 or 160bhp.

It delivers a class-leading payload, with a load volume of 17m3 and internal load height of 2,120mm, all fitted with four-tier restraint systems, a high-strength shutter and a rear foot step.

Constructed using GRP sides and bulkhead and a dip-painted and powder-coated bolted frame, the bodies can also be modified to add a tail-lift.

"We have teamed up with one of the best conversion specialists to design our new Luton Crafter," states Andrew Waite, head of sales operations for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

"It combines all the usual Crafter qualities of reliability, ease of use and low running costs, and adds an incredible load space for even greater practicality," he adds.

Prices range from £32,470 to £33,380 for the higher powered unit, and the vehicles are on sale now – also from £299 a month on contract hire or on finance lease terms via Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle Finance.
