Allison-equipped County bus revealed by Hyundai 29 August 2013

Allison Transmission is supplying fully-automatic transmissions to Hyundai Motor Company's County bus for the first time.

Equipped with an Allison 1000 Series transmission, the new County now offers easy driving, improved performance and optimised vehicle fuel efficiency, according to Chang-wook (Simon) Kim, managing director of Allison Transmission in Korea.

Allison's 1000 Series transmissions include a high-efficiency torque converter matched to a six-speed planetary gear set with two overdrive ratios.

For County bus drivers, these automatics deliver rapid, smooth acceleration and efficient, continuous power, compared to manual transmission-equipped buses.
