Allison Transmission opens the doors to its Hungarian facility 12 October 2011

Allison Transmission has exceeded expectations with its multimillion dollar Allison customer experience centre (ACE) and demonstration and drive track in Szentgotthárd, Hungary.

This month, ahead of its official launch in 2012, the company invited commercial truck and bus OEMs and Allison customers to the site, which is adjacent to its state-of-the-art transmission manufacturing facility.

"The success we have with potential customers and OEMs who visit our North American customer demonstration centre in Indianapolis is remarkable," explains Lawrence Love, Allison Transmission's executive director of international marketing.

"Compared side-by-side with other commercial vehicle transmission solutions, we are able to demonstrate how Allison fully automatic transmissions provide superior performance, efficiency and drivability," he adds.

Visitors to the centre were able to drive trucks, buses and off-road vehicles equipped with Allison automatic transmissions on a variety of road courses.
