Amathus adds another Volvo FL to its cellar04 October 2010

North London-based specialist drinks distributor Amathus Drinks has added another Volvo FL 18 tonner to its fleet – changing up from earlier 7.5 tonners.

"The lighter weight truck just isn't an economic proposition for us any more," says logistics director Phanos Theophanous, who explains that the new truck is now in multi-drop work in and around central London.

"We have been working with 05, 56 and 58 plate FLs from new," he adds. "The FL is a great vehicle: our drivers like them, and I'm very happy with the service we get from Volvo Truck and Bus Centre London."

The latest FL has been fitted with a dry freight box body and barn doors by GM Billings & Sons, based in Loughton, Essex,

"I like to deal with local companies and Billings make a good product," comments Theophanous. "We've done a lot of business with them."
