Apprentice opportunities announced by Cartwright24 May 2013

Body and trailer manufacturer Cartwright has launched a recruitment drive for 40 apprentices to support the company's expansion plans.

Its apprenticeships are targeted at 16–19 year olds, and Cartwright is organising an open day at Broadheath, Altrincham, on the 8 June for budding engineers, with a factory tour, to get an insight into what is involved in the programme.

Initially launched last year, Cartwright's apprenticeship scheme has, "been a resounding success, achieving retention rates well above the industry average," according to the company.

Stockport College helped Cartwright develop the two-year programme, which leads to a Level 2 engineering apprenticeship, part of which sees apprentices attending college on day release for workshop training.

On completion of Level 2, and subject to interest and aptitude, there is an opportunity for the apprentices to continue to Level 3 and ultimately HND.
