ATEX-compliant trailer tracking device available from Masternaut18 December 2014

Telematics provider Masternaut will soon be offering the MT-330 device – a trailer tracking unit certified for use in notified hazardous environments.

The ATEX-certified unit, made available through Masternaut's supplier CalAmp, is integrated with Masternaut Connect to enable operators to monitor delivery vehicles and other mobile assets used in the oil and gas industry.

The MT-330 features high-sensitivity GPS for reliable tracking and supports options for a range of global wireless standards, including GSM/GPRS, HSPA and CDMA.

It is compliant with ATEX Zone 2, meaning it can be used in unprotected and hazardous (potentially explosive atmospheres) outdoor environments throughout the UK and Europe.

An integrated rechargeable battery and intelligent power management system ensure continuous service and efficient battery charging while operating on vehicle power, as well as uninterrupted connectivity when detached from the tractor.

The MT-330 can be configured to suit either vehicle- or battery-powered situations, and is compatible with 12- and 24-volt systems, making it ideal for both light- and heavy-duty vehicle applications.

In addition, the unit has triple-axis accelerometer technology, with patent pending, to detect movement for additional security.
