Auto Electrical recognised for Van Excellence scheme 20 May 2013

Auto Electrical Services (AES) is the latest small operator to be recognised by the FTA-backed Van Excellence scheme.

Whereas most of van fleets to sign up so far have been large operators, including BT Fleet, Balfour Beatty and Sainsbury's, Leighton Buzzard-based AES has the smallest van fleet to date, with just six vehicles.

"The whole Van Excellence programme has proved to be very useful to us, and the FTA has been very supportive," states Richard Stansfield, director of business development at Auto Electrical.

Mark Cartwright, FTA's head of vans and commercial vehicles makes the point that the programme is appropriate for van operators of all sizes running commercial vehicles up to 3.5-tonnes gvw.

"We've accredited some of the largest fleets in the past few years, including Network Rail and BT Fleet, but we have also now accredited some much smaller fleets, including AES," comments Cartwright.
