Autologic switches to Goodyear’s latest car transporter tyre 30 April 2012

Car services firm Autologic has signed a five-year tyres contract with Goodyear Dunlop that includes the latter's recently developed 275/70R22.5 Goodyear Marathon LHT II tyre.

Autologic, which previously worked with Michelin, will fit the Goodyear Marathon LHT II tyre – the latest member of the Goodyear Max Technology FuelMax family – to its fleet of more than 400 vehicle transporters.

The tyre is the latest generation of trailer tyre for long haul operations and is claimed to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, due to improved low rolling resistance.

Goodyear Dunlop says the tyre also gives excellent mileage and very low noise, as well as excellent wet grip and shorter stopping distances.

"Our business is focused on providing excellent service to our customers – which means it's imperative we operate a robust and reliable fleet," explains Simon Knight, Autologic's head of operations – fleet and planning.

"The support we will now get through TruckForce UK [fitting and maintenance service] helps to cement this promise to our customers," he continues.

"As a part of our partnership we have adopted Goodyear's Fleet Online Solutions and Fleet Online Solutions Mobile, and now have much greater visibility of our fleet," he adds.

"Very simply this means we have complete and instant information when it comes to monitoring and maintaining each and every tyre – helping us to identify and prevent problems before they occur."
