Autonomous vehicles high on fleet agendas – report 05 May 2017

More than four in 10 fleet managers say that autonomous vehicles will feature in their fleets within the next decade.

That’s among the findings of a report by BT Fleet, in partnership with the AA, which looks at issues such as Brexit, safety, alternative fuels and driver management, along with technology.

More than 360 fleet managers and 320 fleet drivers were surveyed by Populus, an independent market research firm.

The resulting report, ‘Operational Fleet Insight’, was first published for BT Fleet customers and attendees to its industry forum event, but is now being made available for anyone to view (click the link below).

Other findings include: more than half (55%) of fleet managers feel positive about Britain’s decision to leave the EU; 51% of fleet managers say their organisation is using telematics; 75% of fleet managers plan to increase their spend on fuel-efficient technologies in the next few years; and 62% expect to increase their spend on hybrid and electric vehicles.

“In this inaugural report on the trends, factors, challenges and opportunities facing Britain’s fleets today and tomorrow, we’ve aimed to not only uncover the issues impacting operational fleets, but also to present the findings in a way that allows the reader to apply the learnings in their day-to-day role and equip their fleets for the challenges ahead,” says Henry Brace, BT Fleet’s managing director.
