“This is the first brand new vehicle we have bought of this size, but we are impressed with the MANs,” states Simon, who bought the company eight years ago and now runs a fleet of 1s vehicles.
“I know a number of people in the haulage industry who run them and they are all impressed by their economy and reliability” he says.
“And, unlike some manufacturers, MAN does not ask for thousands of pounds for a warranty before you even purchase a vehicle.”
The chassis cab selected was a TGL 12.220 4X2 BL with MAN’s 220bhp D0834LFL68, 4.6 litre, four-cylinder engine, delivering 850Nm torque and driving though a ZF 6AS800, six-speed Tipmatic transmission.
For Chance, this is a major investment in a company that has grown four employees to 12, and now operates 24/7 with contracts for a dozen major insurance companies.
“I want the vehicle to look right and create the right impression for our business and I really like the MAN,” comments Chance.
“In addition I have spent a few thousand on lights and horns, just because I love my vehicles.”
