AW Lumb: high praise for Loadmac truck-mounted forklifts 21 February 2017

Midlands-based builders’ merchant AW Lumb added two Loadmac 825iSR UK-built truck-mounted forklifts to its lorry fleet last year, and says both are reliable and enabling full vehicle offloads from one side.

“Firstly, the truck-mounted forklift concept … gives us higher volume and payload on the vehicle, and we attribute 3—4mpg fuel saving compared to a mounted crane,” explains Martin Keay, director at AW Lumb.

“Looking specifically at Loadmac, it’s a very good piece of equipment and the only machine in its class which has the reach to genuinely be able to offload the vehicle from one side,” he continues – explaining that lifting capacity is 2.500kg and reach 3,600mm.

“We work in some inner city and confined areas, and that’s a huge plus for us… It’s early days, but we’re very impressed so far: it’s a reliable, hard-working piece of kit that gets the job done.

“And I can’t speak highly enough about the back-up we get from our local dealer too.”
