Axis looks to Krone for better uptime and residuals 18 February 2013

Axis Fleet Management, the truck, rigid and trailer leasing subsidiary of Axis Intermodal, has added 100 Cool Liner trailers from Krone Trailers UK to its temperature controlled fleet.

The move, says Axis, is aimed at helping to maximise uptime and maintain the value of its trailer assets.

Joining a mixed fleet of over 2,000 vehicles, the new trailers are on long-term contract with leading cold chain logistics operators in the UK and Europe.

The single temperature Cool Liners – which will be run by Axis for up to seven years – come with Carrier fridge units and Krone aluminium floors.

"These trailers are designed to cope with the sort of everyday wear and tear that can often see some other trailers back in the workshop," comments David Reay, sales director for Axis Fleet Management.

"Our customers are delivering around the clock to RDCs and stores throughout Europe against demanding and time-critical schedules," he continues.

"Every hour that a trailer goes down can have a domino effect in the delivery process. It is imperative that our trailers are not only built to the highest quality to ensure efficient insulation and reliable performance, but also that we and our customers can rely on the backup provided."
