Axtec to demo 40 second axle weighing at the RWM Show27 August 2015

Commercial vehicle axle weighing specialist Axtec, which claims to deliver ± 0.5% accuracy axle and whole vehicle loads in under 40 seconds, will be proving it at the RWM Show (Resource Efficiency and Waste Management – NEC, 15—17 September).

Axtec sales manager Derek Hack says that visitors will be able to see the company's range of dynamic, static, on-board and portable axle weighing equipment, designed to ensure that vehicles are fully loaded and compliant.

The firm, which has seen considerable success in the recycling and waste management sector, also points to some installations of its dynamic weighbridges that are generating additional revenue as public weighbridges.

Hack explains that the Axtec dynamic weighbridge measures vehicles in motion to remove the effects that stopping and starting can have on compensating axles, which can often lead to inaccurate weighing.

He also says that for waste operators, the small platform offers "huge benefits", because yard space is freed-up for other purposes and there is no above-ground structure to be hit by vehicles.

"The biggest single reason for a weighbridge to have its approval revoked is debris under the beam," states Hack.

"A large platform weighbridge can be difficult to clean under, but the Axtec dynamic platform has corner pockets for simple pit access... And, in the worse cases, the whole thing can be lifted out in seconds using a forklift."
