Axtec weighs in with new load indicator 17 April 2019

Axtec will unveil the next generation of its OnBoard Axle Load Indicator at the CV Show (NEC; 30 April to 2 May), with the new product suitable for all vehicles, from vans to 44-tonne truck-and-trailer combinations.

The latest OnBoard model has larger, clearer displays, with touchscreens of 5in or 7in, enhanced graphics and a faster response time.

All management functions are password protected and no manual controls are accessible by drivers. Axtec says installation is easy and a new single wire connection gives more flexibility on dashboard location.

The new version uses less power than its predecessor, making it suitable for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Weights are shown in traffic light configuration: green for legal weights, amber when maximum limits are approached, and flashing red to indicate an overload.

Outputs to tracking devices are provided as standard, while enhanced functionality allows for more detailed information to be obtained by telemetry than just a simple overload alert.

As the new device has more processing power, customers can add more options such as remote calibration, video recording, analysis of vehicle data and real-time alerts of infringements.

Keith Gresham, Axtec’s managing director, says: “We are constantly developing our products in response to customer demand and, with the new Axtec OnBoard, we have improved on an outstandingly successful product, while retaining a focus on even more technological advancements in future.”
