Barton’s Pickles relishes reliability of Isuzu trucks13 December 2016

Barton’s Pickles has taken delivery of an Isuzu Forward N75.190 7.5-tonne rigid – to replace an 18-year-old Isuzu vehicle, which it has retired from service.

Supplied by dealer Warrington Vehicle Centre, the St Helens-based operator’s new addition has been specified with Easyshift transmission and a curtainsided body.

Its predecessor had more than 750,000 miles on the clock and had been operated by Barton’s Pickles for 16 of its 18 years. “With the exception of routine servicing, nothing ever went wrong; its reliability was absolutely unbelievable. However it was time for us to move on and replace it,” says owner Eddie Barton.

The old Isuzu has even gone to a new owner: “The condition of the returning Isuzu was remarkable for its age and it flew through its MOT,” says Warrington Vehicle Centre’ managing director, Richard Cook (left, with Eddie Barton).

Its replacement is expected to cover 30,000 miles a year.
