BD Fuels takes delivery of 8x2 truck tanker conversion 10 February 2011

BD Fuels, one of Staffordshire's largest fuel oil distributors, has taken delivery of a specially converted new tanker from Walsall-based Volvo truck dealer Hartshorne Motor Services.

The tanker is based on a rear-steer FM11 8x2 chassis with day cab and a 410hp Euro-5 engine. Conversion work was carried out by Lakeland Tankers of Lye, Stourbridge.

The new vehicle joins Stafford-based BD Fuels' nine-strong fleet, and will be used to deliver fuel oil to farms, businesses, transport companies and homes throughout the region.

Dean Guttridge of Hartshorne says that BD Fuels was looking for reliability and good after sales service. "For a company like BD Fuels, which operates mostly Volvos, uptime is crucial to the business. That's why they choose Volvo and Hartshorne," he says.
